New Bon Iver LP due out in June
Since the release of Emma, Forever Ago three years ago, Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon has been wrapped up in various other projects, including the supergroup GAYNGS and Kanye West's latest album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. So, where does that leave Bon Iver?
While talking with Rolling Stone, Vernon said that the as-of-yet-untitled follow up to the incredible Emma, Forever Ago "is scheduled to come out sometime in June." The album will feature saxophonist Colin Stetson (Tom Waits, Arcade Fire) and pedal-steel guitarist Greg Leisz (Wilco), and will boast "a lush 10-track collage in which each song represents a place." The album's opening track, titled "Perth," and "features a marching drum beat, a childrens’ choir and wailing guitars," while another track, titled "Minnesota Wisconsin," features double bass drums and a distorted bass saxophone. Expect to hear more from Bon Iver in the coming months.
