[News] Neon Indian Reveals Release Date of New Album, Announces Fall Tour Dates

In 2009, Alan Palomo, the mastermind behind Neon Indian, made a name for himself with his incredibly unique debut album Psychic Chasms. Since then, he has toured alongside bands such as Phoenix, Chromeo, The Flaming Lips, and Massive Attack, and has performed at numerous festivals. The 20 year old has even collaborated with Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips.

Last Winter, Palomo went to Helsinki, Finland to write and record his follow-up to Psychic Chasms, a darker album that has now been given a title and a release date. The album is titled Era Extraña and is described by Palomo as being "the closest you can get to feeling like you're at the edge of the earth. And there were moments where I lost sight of what I was really there to do." He has also released the video "Heart: Decay," which, along with "Heart: Attack," will be part of a three-part instrumental piece. The video, which you can watch above, shows snippets of Palomo's album making process in Helsinki. The album will be released on September 13th via Palomo's own Static Tongues label, in conjunction with Mom + Pop Music in North America, and Transgressive Records in the UK.

The artist also announced Fall tour dates throughout North America to support the release of Era Extraña, with the first show starting on September 15th in Philadelphia. You can check out all the tour dates after the jump.
