[News] The Flaming Lips and Bon Iver Collaborate

Rounding out 2011 with an innumerable amount of collaborations, including collaborative EPs with both Yoko Ono Plastic Ono Band, Lightning Bolt and Neon Indian, The Flaming Lips are already starting 2012 on a similar note. With plans to release a compilation featuring Death Cab For Cutie, Nick Cave, Ghostland Observatory, among others, on Record Store Day in April, Wayne Coyne and co. are set for another productive year. Today, in an interview with Rolling Stone, Coyne also revealed that Bon Iver has been added to the list of artists to be featured on the compilation, with the Wisconsin musician "sending the Lips two tracks to work on any day now."

With an already collaboration packed year, Coyne still hopes to record with Lykke Li, Erykah Badu, and Ke$ha. With what The Flaming Lips have accomplished in the last year, it would come as no surprise if those hopes came to fruition. For now, though, the Record Store Day 2012 compilation has no set release date, but Coyne hopes to release it in April.
