[Watch] AM & Shawn Lee - "Dark Into Light" (Video)
Experimental pop-project duo AM & Shawn Lee have unveiled the video for their single, "Dark Into Light" from their upcoming album Celestial Electric which drops on March 6th in the UK (you can grab it in the US now). As we previously mentioned back when we shared "City Boy" with you, the album came together via email as Los Angeles-based AM and London-based Shawn Lee swapped ideas for songs from their respective homes. The final product is a laid-back album full of airy vocals, sweeping synthy melodies, and grooved out beats that radiate in a soft vintage-esque glow. The kind of album that you would listen to at sunset on a chilly day when the sky is full of warm colors.
The video for "Dark Into Light" was beautifully animated by Paul Postma and takes you on a ride through the grooved out universe of the duo. You can grab the song over on iTunes.

LA based indie pop artist AM and London-based sonic innovator Shawn Lee have decided to merge their talents in the form of an album titled Celestial Electric, which is due for a February 20th 2012 release on ESL. The lead single from the album is "City Boy" an chilled out electronic groove jam with a retro vibe.
The duo worked on the album separately in their individual hometowns, trading ideas and tracks via email. Lee would work on the song structure while AM would write songs and lyrics over Lee's grooves, adding vocals, guitars, bass and synths, just before emailing the songs back to Lee, who would then add keyboards, percussion and a variety of instruments before mixing the tracks.
