[Watch] Blur Make Live Return With Brits Performance and Adele Gives ITV The Middle Finger
So last night The Brit Awards took place in London with the music industry sipping on buckets full of wine and a fair few bits of controversy to boot. We'll get to that in a little while though. The event was capped off with a performance from Blur who performed tracks from their back catalogue. "Girls & Boys", "Song 2" and "Parklife" were all performed during the main broadcast on ITV 1 before the show switched to ITV 2 for the band to continue their first performance in 3 years finishing up with "Tender" and "This Is A Low". This topped off the night after the band took home the Outstanding Contribution to Music award on which receiving Damon gave a lengthy speech leading to the show over-running and Adele being cut off by presenter James Corden after she won the biggest award of the night, Album Of The Year for 21, which was presented to her by a rather sozzled looking/sounding George Michael. Peep "Girls & Boys" & "Song 2" at the top with the rest of the performance being after the jump.
Right at the bottom too you can see the moment in which Adele flipped the bird to "the suits" for cutting her short. ITV have since offered an apology statement:
We regret this happened and we send our deepest apologies to Adele that her big moment was cut short this evening due to the live show over-running. We don't want this to undermine her incredible achievement in winning our night's biggest award. It tops off what's been an incredible year for her.
After watching the ITV2 post event coverage presenter James Corden seemed rather pissed off and "upset" that he had to cut off Adele:
I was having the best night of my life and then I had to cut Adele off before she's even had chance to say thank you. She's the biggest star in the world. I don't understand what happened but I'm upset about it.
From where I was sat, ITV chose to cut off Adele so the show wouldn't over-run which it did anyway due to Blur playing an 11 minute set prior to the show switching channels. Surely 2 minutes extra to let the biggest star in the world right now to say a few bits of thanks to people that have helped her get where she is wouldn't of harmed anyone. The news that was scheduled after surely wouldn't have been any different to the news 2 minutes earlier? Let us know your thought is the comment section. Also, as we mentioned yesterday, Blur will be performing a huge show at Hyde Park to finish of the Olympics. Details over here.

[News] Bob Dylan Tribute Album: 'Chimes of Freedom' Tracklist Feat. QOTSA, My Morning Jacket, Pete Townshend & More
In celebration of Amnesty International's 50th Anniversary, a collection of Bob Dylan covers has been put together and is set for release in January on the 24th to be precise. The full tracklist has appeared and it's frikkin' crazy! Like good crazy and absurd crazy, you know?! It'll be a 72 track monster compiling 4 discs and a host of talent from the world of music. It also throws a few weird number sin but hey, you gotta take the good with the bad.
Chimes of Freedom: The Songs of Bob Dylan Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International will include covers from the likes of Queens of the Stone Age who take on "Outlaw Blues" from 1965's Bringing It All Back Home. My Morning Jacket tackle "You’re A Big Girl Now", Mariachi El Bronx add their fine acoustic goodness to "Love Sick". The Who’s Pete Townshend tackles the crooner number "Corrina, Corrina" and Cage the Elephant do "The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll". Now, thrown into the mix we have Miley Cyrus covering Blood on the Tracks' "You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go". The one I really don't want to see covered in glitter and crap is "Don't Think Twice it's Alright" but that's been taken up by none other than Ke$ha. KE$SHA!? But still, this compilation will definitely be worth a listen. The full track listing of pure awesome can be found after the jump via CoS.
