[Sasquatch! 2013] Our Most Anticipated Artists of the Festival (Day One and Two)
Only two days left until Sasquatch! begins. Tomorrow and the next day will see thousands of avid music fans journeying to The Gorge Amphitheatre in George, WA, prepping their campsites, stocking up on alcohol and drugs in anticipation of dozens of amazing performances. This year's lineup boasts some fantastic talent, such as The xx, Vampire Weekend, Sigur Rós, The Postal Service, Disclosure, Arctic Monkeys, Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros and many, many more. It's a lineup worth salivating over.
As the festival quickly approaches, I've put together a list of some of the best acts playing each of the four nights. Each band comes with some recommended listening, because there is no better way to prepare for a festival than sampling what each band has to offer, whether you know them or not. Check out our most anticipated artists for days one and two after the jump, with days three and four to follow tomorrow.
[Listen] Andrew Bird - "Three White Horses"
Andrew Bird quickly follows-up his March LP Break It Yourself with a companion album titled Hands of Glory. The Break It Yourself accompaniment was recorded with Bird's full band, all playing acoustically around a single microphone in a church and barn. Below, you can stream the album opener "Three White Horses", which perfectly exemplifies how the album was inspired by Bird's "old-time" live sets during his recent tour.
Hands of Glory is out on October 30th via Mom+Pop, and after the jump you can take a look at the tracklisting for the album.
[News] Andrew Bird Announces Extended Summer Tour Dates
Indie folk musician Andrew Bird has announced an extended summer tour in support of his latest LP Break It Yourself, with the tour kicking off on May 3rd in Philadelphia. Carrying straight through till August, the extensive tour will see Andrew Bird performing with help from Wilco, Mavis Staples, Patrick Watson, Mucca Pazza and Tift Merritt, as well as performances at Outside Lands and several other major festivals. Take a look at his full tour itinerary after the jump.
[Watch] Andrew Bird Visits The Colbert Report
Last night Andrew Bird hit up the Colbert Report for an interview and to, to our delight, perform "Eyeoneye" and "Danse Caribe". The tracks feature on his new album, Break It Yourself, which only dropped a week again so if you're yet to give it a listen this might be a good little preview of what you've been missing out on. Check out the footage at the top and after the jump via the NJ Underground.
