[Download] Mr. Muthafuckin eXquire – 'The Man in the High Castle' Mixtape
Recently, artists going behind their labels' backs and releasing content anyways has been a popular trend, and it continues as rapper Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire sticks it to Universal by releasing his mixtape The Man in the High Castle without their permission. In a string of tweets, eXquire revealed that his label was delaying the release because they "hate me to rap", but clearly he doesn't care as he states, "they keep taking it down, ima keep putting it up".
Before the man puts his foot down, head here to download the 19-track mixtape.

[Listen] Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire – "Telephuck" (Produced by El-P)
Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire recently performed at Converse Rubber Tracks' pop-up studio and venue, where he dropped a new, El-P-produced track called "Telephuck". With his raspy-as-hell voice, the song is a shining example of what eXquire does best, who consistently delivers energetic and absurd verses. Stream it below courtesy of The FADER.
[SKOA Presents] Beats For Daze #1
Sup everyone! Your friendly neighborhood Rocko here bringing you a new project that I've been working on for the past week or so while I was gearing up to head to the bay area this week. So lemme give you a little back story, as i've been working on the Some Kind of Mixtape series with the rest of the awesome crew here at SKoA and getting super obsessed with compiling artist/producer playlist on Spotify (username: somekindofrocko. I know cheap plug.) I wanted to do something of the sort for the readers of SKoA that wasn't just contributing a few new tracks every month. So I hit up The Kibbs aka Kibbe and said, "YO I GOT DIS PROJEKT I WANT TO DROP FOR ALL THE FLY HUNNIES OUT DER" cuz I talk like that and she was like "That sounds like a super awesome idea", in her best Rock Mama voice. Note: this was all done over AIM so i'm just making shit up. But anyways after a few days of tinkering, coming up with art designs and shit, the series Beats For Daze was born.
Much like the fashion of the SKoA monthly mixture, I (and hopefully some awesome guests) will be dropping a mixtape roughly around the middle of each month of some of my favorite headnodding tracks, some classic, some freshly off the grill. So without further ado, hear is the first installment in the Beats For Daze series. I originally tried mixing the tracks together like an actual DJ session but didn't hit the expectation I was looking for. See: FAILURE. But I hope you guys enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed compiling it together and I hope you also discover some new artists that you haven't heard before and go out and support their shit. Because without support, how are they supposed to make more dope shit? Sell drugs? Maybe.
So on this month's installment we got classic tracks from The Budos Band, Dan The Automator's Lovage, RJD2 and pre rave/mainstream Calvin Harris and for the new shit we got tracks from recently released albums by Blockhead, Flea, Alchemist, Jeremiah Jae produced by Flying Lotus, Vacationer (thanks whoever put me on to them in a Turntable.fm session) Dark Time Sunshine and more with the addition of some unreleased tracks. So click on the artwork above to kick this session off. BTW keep a close eye on the artwork as it will change monthly and has some nice little easter egg type shit in it for video game/comics/entertainment and music lovers alike. Enjoy!
[Listen] Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire - "The Message"
After delivering a dirty ass morning treat with the video for "Position of Passion", Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire has another offering in the form of a new song called "The Message". The track has eXquire dishing out a lot of verses about food. A LOT. And though he claims he doesn't remember who produced it, tweeting a picture of him and El-P in the studio gives a pretty good indication. Stream it below.
[Watch] Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire - "Position of Passion" (NSFW)
Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire has let loose the visuals for his song "Position of Passion", and this one is definitely NSFW. The video has a woman showing off all the goods on a pool table in a room doused in red light. If your boss is opposed to women rubbing money on their vaginas, then watch at your own risk.
"Position of Passion" is set to appear on eXquire's upcoming digital EP Power & Passion, which will be released on October 30th.
[Listen] Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire - "Lost In Transition"
Last month, Chicago label Closed Sessions kicked off the second installment of their singles series, and the latest track to come from it is a mellow cut from Mr. Muthafuckin' eXquire titled "Lost In Transition". The song was apparently recorded by the Brooklyn rapper during his first trip to Chicago before signing to Universal, meaning it offers an insight into eXquire's transition going from a relative unknown to a heavy-hitter in the hip hop world. Check out the track below, along with a short documentary spotlighting eXquire to go along with the single.
Closed Sessions Vol. 2, a compilation of all the singles released for the series, will be released on August 30th via Closed Sessions/SoundScape Studios.
