[Listen] The Screaming Trees - 'Last Words: The Final Recordings'

Eleven years ago Screaming Trees called it quits and as we mention in June it's been 15 years since the release of their last album Dust. Back in June though fans got news of a Mark Lanegan and co recorded, full album from back in 1998 and 1999. The album was to be named Last Words: The Final Recordings and today courtesy of our buddies at Antiquiet you can stream the entire thing. The album features Josh Homme and also Peter Buck of R.E.M, but as AQ points out, we're unsure as to which tracks they appear on!

The album was released yesterday (August 2nd) digitally through Sunyata Music. Listen to The Screaming Trees Last Words below.

[News] A Lost Album From Screaming Trees Coming In August

Eleven years ago Screaming Trees called it quits and it's been 15 years since the release of their last album Dust. Apparently though the band didn't stop hooking up and jamming some stuff out in the studio. Pitchfork reveals that Mark Lanegan and co recorded a full album in-between 1998 and 1999. Drummer Barrett Martin discovered the lost album and has aptly named it, Last Words: The Final Recordings. The drummer will also release the album digitally through his Sunyata Music label on August the 2nd, but don't get too excited as a reunion is off the table. In a statement the band said:

"There are no plans for a reunion, as the band members are finally well-adjusted adults who actually get along with each other and have happily moved on with their lives."

On a positive note though, the recordings are said to feature Mark's friend Josh Homme and also Peter Buck of R.E.M. Sounds like a release to keep an eye out for.
