[SKOA Presents] Some Kind of Mixtape: April 2012

Honestly, where is this year going!? It feels like last month we were doing our end of the year write ups and making plans to party on New Years Eve, but here we are nearly halfway into the year already. That means it's definitely time to start making all of your festival plans and start picking songs to listen to on the way to the beach. This month's tunes that have been hand selected by us for Some Kind of Mixtape: April 2012 are sure to point you in the right direction. [Listen] White Fence - "Green Balloon"

White Fence, the psychedelic rock project of Tim Presley, has a busy mid-2012 ahead of him. His collaborative effort with fellow psych-rocker Ty Segall, Hair, is set for release tomorrow, while volume two of his double LP titled Family Perfume is set for release on May 15th via Woodsist. As Pitchfork points out, White Fence has yet another release planned, with the 7" single of "Green Balloon" set to drop on May 22nd via London label Sexbeat. The fuzzy, '60s-infused track is now available to stream below, with the tracklisting following after the jump.

[Listen] Ty Segall and White Fence - "I Am Not a Game"

San Francisco Bay area rockers Ty Segall and White Fence are collaborating on a LP titled Hair, which is set to drop on April 24th via Drag City. The first listen from the album comes in the form of the organ-driven "I Am Not a Game," which premiered on Pitchfork earlier today. Give the song a listen below, and both bands are heading out on tour next month, including shows together, so check out their full tour schedule after the jump.
