[Listen] Vampire Weekend - "Fight For This Love" (Cheryl Cole Cover)
Radio One is already world famous and their Live Lounge is quickly becoming a hotbed for productivity and artists doing crazy covers. Recently we've had the likes of Ellie Goulding covering Rihanna and in the past we've had Arctic Monkeys covering the Girls Aloud UK hit "Love Machine" (If you've not seen this I advise you do just for Matt Helders singing at the top of his lungs, priceless). Speaking of Girls Aloud today Vampire Weekend dropped by to say hi to Fearne Cotton and while in the live lounge performed a cover of Cheryl Cole's "Fight For This Love".
In relation to the track the guys said “One day we were in the car driving to the airport and we heard a song that reminded is of KC & Jojo “All My Life” which is a very important song for people our age. We were like “This song is awesome.” Then we saw her on tabloids. Who knew she was famous?”. Check out their cover below and get used to the name Cheryl Cole over in the States. Rumour has it she's coming stateside with X-Factor/Somewhere's Got Talent/Some Talent Show R' Us, or some other talent show along those lines with Simon Cowell. You get her and we get the Hoff which seems like a fair trade I think. Hat tip to Stereogum for the rip.
UPDATE: Check out video of the band performing in the Live Lounge above
