[News] Biffy Clyro Start Work on New Album
This is nice to wake up to isn't it. In an interview with 6 Music Biffy Clyro have spoken about how work has begun on their follow up to 2009's Only Revolutions. In the interview Simon Neil said;
"I love writing songs at home, so we've got about 15 or 16 songs that we did over new year, as soon as we get off the road we'll get the album done," going on to say "We're always going to be a rock band, it's always going to be heavy, but hopefully just bring different elements, it's going to sound like Biffy, it's not going to be a reggae record put it that way." Which is good to hear. A Scottish Reggae album may not be what the world is looking for right now!
After the year Biffy had in 2010 and the sound of Only Revolutions still ringing around my head I'm eager to hear more new material from the boys and see them progress further. Their live shows are a spectacle to behold and last week gained praise at the NME Awards picking up the Best Live Act beating off competition from Arcade Fire, Foals, Kasabian and the mighty Muse!
On a side note the boys find having the biggest hit of 2010 with "Many of Horror" via Simon Cowell's money grabbing XFactor and it's winner using their track. Simon says:
"We were in Australia when it happened, it seemed like a bit of a joke and it still feels a bit surreal so I don't really know how to take it at all. Thankfully we weren't in the UK, I think we might have thought about it a bit more but because we were in Australia we just thought sod it, it's funny."
Check out the clip below to hear the interview and we'll keep you in the loop as to when the new Biffy Clyro album is set to surface. Hopefully it'll be sooner rather than later. If you want to check them out live they'll be headlining a night at Sonisphere along with Slipknot and The Big Four! Tickets are avaialble over here.
