[News] Damon Albarn Recording New Album During A Week In Congo

Damon Albarn is a busy, busy man and it seems like he doesn't like to stay planted in one place for too long. In between writing music for numerous bands and performing in a recent opera in Manchester as part of the International Festival he now has another project that he's taken charge of. Damon is headed out to the Congo in partnership with Oxfam and a group of Producers to record a Democratic Republic of Congo. Gigwise reports that the group who go by the name of DRC Music, includes Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Dan The Automator, Jneiro Jarel, Richard Russell, Actress, Marc Antoine, Jo Gunton and Kwes.

Damon hopes the album will highlight the humanitarian struggles that go on daily in the Congo and you can follow their progress on twitter by following @DRCMusic.
