[SONG OF THE DAY] Bronze Whale - "Slowing Down"

Austin duo Bronze Whale have returned after dropping their debut LP, The Shape Of Things with a brand new track, “Slowing Down”. The duo teamed up with Joe Pincus, known to the rest of the world as Aire Atlantica during a writing trip to Los Angeles. In true Bronze Whale fashion where they just keep churning out feel good vibes, the band are prepping to release a remix EP in July. Speaking of remixes, their sneak peeks from that EP might have passed you by, but as per usual I gotchu fam. Def wanna give these a whirl. Charlie Crown’s rework of “Cruising” has this fun new energy that builds quite nicely and Cloudchord’s edit of “Gold Grain” takes the song to a more downtempo/relaxed vibe.

Hi hi I'm not dead I have just been super busy between switching jobs and MOVING BACK TO BROOOOKKKKLLLLLLYYYNNNN that um you know gushing to the internet about music on any platform but twitter dot com gets to be a bit time consuming tbh. 

Anywho, I have played this an embarrassing number of times today but it has made me so fucking happy that I ain't even mad tho. If you have been following along with Mason you'll have noticed that he really stepped up his internetting and recently asked his fans what song he should remix next. Apparently there was an overwhelming number of requests for Toto's 1982 classic, "Africa" and let me tell y'all the dude D E L I V E R E D.

BTW - amongst his stellar internetting he's also been doing a weekly mixshow podcast thing called The Animal Language Show. He's currently 16 weeks strong and each show runs about an hour of danceable delights. Definitely worth a listen if you're looking to dance and dig up new tunes.

For those of you who are just catching up like me, MOSSY, who hails from Sydney, unveiled this GORGEOUS video a few weeks back for his debut single, "Electric Chair", which comes from his self-titled debut that will be dropping on May 13th courtesy of boutique label I OH YOU. The video got past me the first time, but thanks to this sophisticated rework by the Slum guys you can enjoy both side by side as I did.

[Listen] James Blake - "40455"

After announcing in December that the likes of James Blake and Steve Angello will have shows on the BBC Radio One's Residency programme this month. Last night  Blake was on the other side of the desk and on his show he debuted a new track of his titled "40455" and it is everything we've come to expect from him. Swooning, sweeping, soaring and all round staggering. I honestly don't think I'll ever get bored of his style and music. It's perfect to pass the time on a hectic Friday morning in the office. It's helping me fight off the caffeine shakes at least so why don't you all just take a break and enjoy. The weekend is nigh.

[Listen] The 1975 - "Girls" (The Knocks Remix)

In a year filled with rather exquisite albums, it's often hard to pick favourites and it's at this time of year that people begin to make their shortlists for numerous sites across the web. A stand out for me was the pop-filled, cinematic debut full-length from The 1975. Their recent single "Girls" is just an instant feel good song the moment it hits the speakers. Now, it is Friday after all, and chances are you're getting pretty hyped up for the weekend, and rightly so. There's also a chance you're sat at your desk at work right now and you're already clock watching counting down the minutes until you're free and can go sip on a sweet, sweet beverage. Let's make that wait seem like a little less with the help of a remix of the aforementioned single from The 1975 courtesy of The Knocks. Breathing a new life of disco into an already infectious track you can download it for free below and get the weekend started a little sooner than you might of planned.

[Listen] Chromeo and Oliver Remix Donna Summer's "Love Is In Control (Finger On The Trigger)"

Love to Love You Donna is a remix compilation dedicated to the late Donna Summer. These remixes see musicians from all across the world, including Giorgio Moroder, Hot Chip and more, coming together in memory of her musical legacy.

Chromeo and Oliver teamed up for their contribution, tackling Summer's 1982 hit "Love Is In Control (Finger On The Trigger)." Bringing their talents together, the remix vibrates with deep disco synths and hard-hitting percussion. Coupled with Summer's passionate vocals, this is the type of thing that'll keep you dancing all night long.

The Dahlia-Ambach Caplin and Randall Poster-produced Love to Love You Donna is out on October 22nd.

[Album Stream] Listen to JJ Doom's 'Butter Edition' of 'Keys to the Kuffs', Including Remixes from Clams Casino, Thom Yorke and Beck

Refresher: JJ Doom = MF Doom and Jneiro Jarel. Last year, they released the fantastic Keys to the Kuffs, a collaboration that paired Doom's bizarre lyricism and Jarel's dark, outlandish production. Exactly one year later, on August 20th, Lex Records will be releasing the "Butter Edition" of the album, featuring reworked versions of tracks, new guest verses (including Del the Funky Homosapien) as well as remixes from the likes of Thom Yorke, Clams Casino, Beck and Dave Sitek. [Watch] Classixx and Nancy Whang Take a Yacht Cruise in the Video for "All You're Waiting For"

Classixx debut album Hanging Gardens is one of my top so far this year. It has seen heavy rotation wherever I go, and the album's single "All You're Waiting For" is one of the highlights. Featuring LCD Soundsystem's Nancy Whang, the glittering synths and posh lyrics match perfectly with this new video. Whang plays the rich, snobbish owner of yacht, sailing the high seas with martinis in hand. Check it out below.

In related Classixx news, the duo have remixed Australian band The Preatures' track "This Is How You Feel?". They steer away from the upbeat groove of the original, giving the song a glitzy, synthesized sheen. Stream the remix below.
