[News] Indians Announces North American Tour
Copenhagen solo musician Indians has made quite the impression on me, despite having only released two songs, both "Magic Kids" and "I Am Haunted". Either way, Indians has been making immense progress so far this year, and that has turned into a great opportunity supporting indie rock outfit Other Lives during their North American tour this fall. The massive tour will kick off on October 19th in Boulder, CO, and will take both bands all across the continent for a total of 36 shows in 50 days. Check out the full tour schedule after the jump.

[Watch] Beirut - "Vagabond" (Official Video)
Indie folk band Beirut have let loose the video for the song "Vagabond," and if you've ever been a fan of World War II-era dances, then you're in luck! The video, which was directed by Sunset Television, was shot in Brooklyn and depicts soldiers and nurses escaping the drudges of war with dancing, smoking and drinking. While the video maintains the melancholic feel of wartime, aided by the black and white aesthetics, it does provide a good insight into how those who took part in the war could have gotten away from the tension and pain. Check it out above.
[Watch] Beirut - "Santa Fe" Live on Fallon
Beirut last night made a visit to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to put in a performance of their single "Santa Fe" for the studio audience as well as the masses watching at home. It's the second time in as many weeks the band has hit up late night shows as on October 14th they visited David Letterman to perform "East Harlem". After you've watched this performance check that one out too if you missed it. Well worth a few moments of your time. Thanks to our good friends at The Audio Perv for the video support.
[Watch] Beirut - "Santa Fe" (Official Video)
Beirut have given fans the latest video treat to come from their album The Rip Tide for the stand out track "Santa Fe". You can watch the video above via The Guardian/Pitchfork. Don't blame us though if it makes you want to go to a beach and hate the weather you are currently stuck in. Manchester has taken a turn for the worst so I hope all your Fridays are a little brighter after watching this nice little visual.
You can pick up a copy of The Rip Tide over here.

[Listen] Beck and Seu Jorge "Tropicália (Mario C 2011 Remix)"
Just in time for summer, a celebration of the 1960's genre Tropicalia in the form of a compliation that helps battle in the fight against AIDS, courtesy of the non-profit organization Red Hot. The compliation, Red Hot + Rio 2 features tropicalia treats from the likes of Brazil's legendary musicians paired with indie artists known internationally, including: John Legend, Os Mutantes, Devendra Banhart, Caetano Veloso, Dirty Projectors, Seu Jorge, Beck, Bebel Gilberto, José Gonzalez, Beirut, Tom Zé, Of Montreal, Marisa Monte Gogol Bordello, DJ Dolores, Aloe Blacc, Angelique Kidjo, Rita Lee, Madlib, Money Mark, Céu, Apollo Nove, Mayra Andrade, Trio Mocotó, Tha Boogie, Alice Smith, Carlinhos Brown, Los Van Van, Brazilian Girls, Marcos Valle, St. Vincent, Neon Indian, Forró In The Dark, Mia Doi Todd, Javelin, and many more.
Yes, in addition to the ten thousand other things Beck is up to, the love of my musical life is also trying to help raise money for a non-profit who is dedicated to fight AIDS through pop culture. I guess all is forgiven.... this time.
Below is a rework of his 1998 classic, appropriately titled "Tropicalia" from Mutations, complete with verses sung by Brazillian songwriter/musician and actor Seu Jorge with a little added production here and there by Brazillian producer Mario C.
You can check out a full tracklisting of the two-disc compliation here.
