[Watch] Jimmy Fallon and The Roots Pay Tribute to MCA, Coldplay Covers "(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party!)"
Following the devastating passing of Beastie Boys member Adam "MCA" Yauch last Friday, Jimmy Fallon and The Roots paid tribute on Friday's episode of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. After giving a brief statement, Fallon delivered a video montage honoring MCA, which gave footage from the Beastie Boys 2009 appearance on the show. Afterwards, The Roots performed covers of "Sure Shot," "Remote Control," and "Sabotage" throughout the show. After the jump, you can stream the entirety of Friday's episode (Fallon’s montage is at the 11:40, and The Roots’ cover of “Sure Shot” can be seen at the 4:15. The other covers performed by The Roots can be seen before and after each break) as well as the 2009 appearance of the Beastie Boys on the show.
Another tribute paid to the passing of MCA comes from Coldplay, who performed a cover of "(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party!)" during their Friday night performance at the Hollywood Bowl. Watch the acoustic, piano-led cover after the jump.

[Watch] Coldplay Performs on American Idol
As much as American Idol sucks (if you're reading this and saying, "No! You suck," who are you kidding? Honestly?), it does have good moments here and there. Last night, during the results show was one of those good moments, as Coldplay got on stage to perform both "Paradise" and "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall." The former saw Chris Martin going solo on the piano, while the latter saw the frontman joined on stage by the rest of the band, although Chris really needs to work on his dance moves. You can watch their performance of "Paradise" above, and "Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall" after the jump.

[Watch] Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - "AKA... What A Life" Feat. Chris Martin Live at The Brits 2012
Another note worthy performance from last night at The Brits came from Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds who put in a performance of their single "AKA... What A Life" and Chris Martin of Coldplay took to piano duties making for an interesting watch and a pretty solid performance. No vocal help from Chris even though it appears like he was singing along in places. Must be a fan. Enjoy it at the top.
[Watch] Coldplay - "Charlie Brown" (Official Video)
Coldplay have snuck their new video for "Charlie Brown" up online in the wee hours and it features a lot of neon. It also features Antonia-Rose Laura Thomas who you may recognise from the E4 Series Misfits. The rest of the video takes place in what looks like a club with Chris Martin and co all covered in neon lights and flashing gadgets much like you might have seen if you've watched Coldplay on their recent tours.
Mylo Xyloto is out now.
[Watch] Coldplay - "Charlie Brown/Paradise" Live on X Factor UK Finale
If you live in the UK, you're more than aware that it's extremely hard to escape the X Factor at this time of year. Multiple TV shows, adverts, radio, The best thing to come out of the X Factor was Rage Against The Machine getting to number One on Christmas day last year thanks to a campaign against the whole reality TV show. But that's a whole other essay we could write. This weekend Simon Cowell's money making machine came to a close and on the finale they roped in a performance from Coldplay. They rolled up to lay down a a two track set featuring Mylo Xyloto cut "Charlie Brown" before running straight into their single "Paradise". Peep the footage at the top and I'll say this: Got to give it to them for the spectacle they put on. I really like the wristband idea they've employed on their recent UK arena tour, it's beautiful to watch on this scale.
