[SONG OF THE DAY] Hot Chip - "Hungry Child"
Oh happiest of happy days, internet family!!! I am happy to disclose that Hot Chip have announced that they will be releasing a new album, A Bath Full Of Ecstasy on June 21st, which you can pre-order here. On the heels of the announcement the band have shared the lead single, “Hungry Child” from said album along with the accompanying hilarious music video starring Martin Starr and Milana Vayntrub.
If that wasn’t enough excitement for your Thursday, the band has also unveiled a slew of tour dates as the cherry on top. Fun true story: you should have seen/heard me on the street this morning when I got the Bandsintown announcement that they were coming to Brooklyn Steel. I….might have startled people. Whoops!

#skoaradio 11/07/2015 liner notes
Really feeling this week's mixtape you guys.
Can't stop. Won't stop. Can't stop working. But it's chill though, the atmosphere I've been launched into has me surrounded by people who are music junkies just like me! In fact, I found Michl courtesy of one of my dope new friends at the office I'm in right now. (Thanks dude!) Sprout and I also hit up Honne on Tuesday this week where we hung out in the dungeon of a basement at Mercury Lounge and chatted with with James and Andy before they got the entire place pregnant. It's good to be busy. Then we had Flagship at Rough Trade on Friday night. Those guys were super great too. Can't wait to interview them and officially usher them into the skoa fam. But yeah, there's a lot going on but the majority of it is awesome. I guess you could say I'm #stressedbutalsoblessed. I hope you enjoyed this week's show. I'd love to hear from you if I just introduced you to your new favorite song (I know I'm kind of obsessing over SOULS right now).
Until next week!

Some Kind of Awesome Radio - 07/11/2015
Typing up all the show notes this week for once because I love you, fam.
YES! I'M ACTUALLY DOING SHOW NOTES FOR THIS WEEK! #sorrynotsorry but like I said in this week's episode I've been dealing with a bit of blogger burnout and even though doing the show is very therapeutic for me when you see how thorough I intend to be moving forward you will understand why I put this off for as long as I could. Again, I really appreciate those of you who listen and never get the promised show notes. NO MORE BROKEN PROMISES! Just quality #content in addition to a bunch of other new things in the works right now.
Hope you enjoyed this weeks show! Feel free to drop a comment here or hit me up on Twitter. I'd love to hear what you thought of this week's picks!
Until next week!

[Listen] Joe Goddard & Boris Dlugosch – "Step Together"
It seems like Joe Goddard is always busy, dipping his hands into numerous musical ventures including his mainstay Hot Chip to The 2 Bears to remixes and solo projects. Today, he released a brand new solo EP titled Taking Over, and it's pretty damn good. Before you dive in a grab it, we thought it would be best to introduce you with two of its four songs.
The first is "Step Together," which Goddard worked on with German producer Boris Dlugosch. It's a bouncy house track fitted with slick piano chords and Goddard's smooth vocal delivery. The second is "She Burns." It features the vocals of Mara Carlyle, focusing on her echoing tones while hi-hats and spaced-out synthesizers shimmer in the background. Stream the former below, while the latter is accompanied by some grim, funerary visuals.
The Taking Over EP is available to purchase now on iTunes and other avenues.
[Listen] Hot Chip - "Dark & Stormy"
Hot Chip get dark and stormy with a new cut premiered on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 programme. The official audio of "Dark & Stormy" has made its way online, and it is so, so good. It's always a great day when there's new Hot Chip, and this new cut is a tight, dance-ready jam. Unfortunately, it'll just be released as a lone single, so no new album or anything like that. Still, can't complain with new music.
[Listen] Foals - "My Number" (Hot Chip Remix)
Hot Chip ups the ante on Foals' dancey single "My Number", adding flourishing, sun-tinged synthesizers and a pulsating 4/4 beat to a dancefloor-ready remix. Acid house influences seep through every second of the three-minute remix, but the highlight is the pacing, which slows it down when appropriate but never fully kills the quick tempo and bouncing rhythms. Stream it below.
Foals new album Holy Fire is out now.
[Watch] Hot Chip - "Don't Deny Your Heart" (Official Video)
Hot Chip have once again enrolled the talents of Peter Serafinowicz who's worked with he band on numerous projects in the past not to mention some hilarious sketch shows of his own, for their new video to "Don't Deny Your Heart". The video sees the boys playing on some FIFA like game on the tour bus and it's damn funny watching. It even involves a weird dance off featuring a hundred golden men too. It's a lot to take it. Check it out at the top of the page and be sure to pick up In Our Heads which is out now.
[Listen] Joe Goddard of Hot Chip Remixes Jessie Ware's "Night Light"
Hot Chip and Jessie Ware may occupy different spectrums of music, they meld stunningly well together. Hot Chip's Joe Goddard, also known for his side project The 2 Bears, has put his talents into a remix of Ware's Devotion track "Night Light", crafting a throbbing electronic beat around her powerful voice. This belongs in dancehalls everywhere. Check it out below.
