[Listen] Little Dragon Remix Unknown Mortal Orchestra's "Swim and Sleep (Like a Shark)"
By simply looping the first verse from Unknown Mortal Orchestra's "Swim and Sleep (Like a Shark)", Swedish outfit Little Dragon has turned the once 60s-tinged track into a sprawling six-minute dancefloor beat. Sweeping synthesizers and pulsating rhythms accompany the repeated vocals of Ruban Nielson, as a pounding drum beat invites you to embrace its club-friendly sound. As Yukimi Nagano explains to Rolling Stone, the band was "inspired to make a choir arrangement for the remix, but got stuck on the first verse and ended up making a house jam."
Unknown Mortal Orchestra's sophomore album II is set for release on February 5th.
[Listen] Big Boi - "Higher Res" Feat. Jai Paul x Little Dragon
Let's be honest we're all pretty eager to fill our ears with Big Boi's new solo effort, Vicious Lies And Dangerous Rumors, and the huge amount of guest spots it has on it. Today we get to hear one that has mystery man Jai Paul and Little Dragon on it too. Titled "Higher Res" you can stream it below. Not fully sold on it in all honesty, maybe it's a grower...
You can check out the Kelly Rowland featuring "Mama Told Me" here and "In The A" which features T.I. and Ludacris here.
[Listen] Big Boi - "Mama Told Me" Feat. Kelly Rowland
Some of you may remember when Big Boi debuted this jam live alongside Little Dragon back in August and announced that the collaboration was going be released on his upcoming solo effort, Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumors. Unfortunately, it appears the original collaboration appears to be nothing but a vicious lie and dangerous rumor itself (see what I did there?) with Little Dragon being subbed out on the final version with R&B songtress Kelly Rowland and production from The Flush Music.
Nevertheless, it is still a jamming track and seeing how Little Dragon will still be credited with songwriting credits it's not a total loss. I'm just a little salty cuz the original was the shit. Anyways peep the final below as well as the live video with Little Dragon then compare and let us know what version you appreciate more. Big Boi's Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumors is set to drop on November 13th.

[Listen] Little Dragon - "Sunshine"
Last year Little Dragon released their LP Ritual Union to a sea of praise. Since then though it's been a little quiet on the new music front. Today though the band have offered up a track that's being released as a one off in partnership with Absolut Punch vodka. The show was premiered last night on The Daily Show and below you can now enjoy the track and accompanying video.
[News] Sleigh Bells, Santigold, Little Dragon to open for Red Hot Chili Peppers
With Red Hot Chili Peppers set to embark upon one hell of a large tour it's only right that a band of their calibre and longevity get some top notch openers for the shows, right? Well, they've definitely delivered as Pitchfork points out, Sleigh Bells, Santigold, and Little Dragon will open for the band on different dates. So, it's kind of a pot luck who'll you will get at your show but personally any of those three followed by RHCP would be a damn good gig to be at! CoS points out that Sleigh bells earned the spot after Flea attended a Sleigh Bells show. Derek Miller recently stated in an interview with The Daily:
Flea came to a show of ours at Webster Hall. I was just hanging out and someone’s like, “Hey Derek, this is Flea.” And I was like, “Oh, nice to meet you, Flea. I’ve heard of you.” And he was an extremely sweet dude. He was like, “Hey, do you want to play shows with my band, the Red Hot Chili Peppers?” And I said, “Yeah, I’ll play shows with your band. Sure. Amazing.” So we just shook hands and he was like, “All right, you’ll hear from us.” And sure enough, a couple days later it came through.
Peep all of the dates after the jump. There's a lot of 'em!
