[Listen] Nero - "Promises" (Skrillex Remix)

Sonny's at it again but this time it's him doing the remix and not vice versa. He's given the big drop treatment to UK duo Nero and their huge 2011 summer track, "Promises". Standard Skrillex track but it's good to see him mixing up what he's doing and damn does he keep himself busy! Check it out below and wake yourself up with some good ol' fashioned intestine shaking dubstep!

[Listen] Nero - "Live Those Days Tonight" (Friendly Fires Cover) Radio One Live Lounge

Today's guest on the ever famous Radio One Live Lounge was Nero who you may remember we posted up in June when they created a Drum and Bass orchestral piece with the help of the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. Today they didn't have an orchestra with them to create huge sound just the gear and Maida Vale studios. They put in a cover of the Friendly Fires track "Live Those Days Tonight". You can stream the re-worked version below which is a building . It was only two weeks ago that Friendly Fires were in the live lounge themselves covering Lady Gaga.

Nero will be appearing at numerous destinations over the next few months, including the previously announced Warehouse Project, so if you want to check the pair out live after this the dates over here.

[News] The Warehouse Project Announces 2011 Lineup Incl. James Blake, Jamie XX, DJ Shadow, Aphex Twin, The Horrors & More!

If you have heard of or been to the Warehouse Project in Manchester you know that the lineup is stellar year in year out, and today is no different as the lineup for 2011 has been announced. Shwing. As expected the lineup for the 12 weeks of fun under a train station is unbelievable! Starting in September the WHP2011 will kick off with a set from DJ Shadow in his Shadowsphere on September the 17th. The madness will end on January First with New Years Day party aka a "seventeen-hour marathon taking us into 2012." The New Years day show is already sold out even though the headliner is yet to be announced!

Through from September until December Manchester will be graced by the likes of James Blake performing a live set, The Horrors will  also curate a night along with the masked man SBTRKT spinning some tunes one night. Cut Copy will perform along with Nero, Calvin Harris, Skream & Benga not to forget Jamie XX who will also be performing to the pumped up crowd. In short it's the best thing you can do every weekend until 2012 in Manchester by far, and I for one will be snapping up some tickets for numerous nights ASAP. If you don't mind getting sweaty with some like minded people whilst watching sets by some of the worlds most talented record spinners, Warehouse Project is where you need to be. For full details and dates along with tickets you can head on over to the official site

This years events will truly be the end of an era for the WHP as it will be the last time the Store Street location is to be used. In a statement the organisers said:

“After five incredible years beneath the streets, the last ever Warehouse Project event at Store Street will finish in the early hours of January 2, 2012. Within 48 hours all evidence that WHP ever existed in that space will be gone, nothing remaining to give any indication that hundreds of thousands of people passed through those doors. The idea was always to keep things fresh. And while The Warehouse Project certainly found its first proper home in this venue, it feels like when the curtain comes down on the 2011 series it will be time to shake things up again. Exactly how, where and when the WHP will return is not yet set, but one thing for sure is that this is The End of Store Street."

Year on year the organiser put on a great show and the lineup never disappoints. I think 2011's shenanigans will be one for the books. DOn't miss out and grab your tickets quick or regret it for the remainder of the year!

[Listen] Nero's Dubstep Symphony with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra

On Monday something strange occurred on BBC Radio One and One Xtra. Classical orchestral music was paired with some UK dubstep pioneers Nero and the results were spine tingling. The project was put together over the past few weeks and took the pair a while to coordinate, as you can imagine, making dubstep transpire into an orchestra must take some work. Below you can check out the full piece and the results. It wasn't what I was expecting if I'm honest. It worked beautifully but personally I was waiting for the big finish that never came. A few parts in which the dub aspects piped up worked well.

The results though...
