[Watch] Willy Moon - "Railroad Track", New Single Being Released via Third Man Records
Well isn't this a lovely little bit of new. SKoA favourite Willy Moon is set to release a single via the one and only Third Man Records. TMR will release "Railroad Track" along with "Bang Bang" as the b-side. It's set for release on August 20th (it's available for pre-order now) and you'll be able to get your hands on either a 7" single or a digital download. Until then though why not enjoy the soul of young Mr. Moon below in the brand new video for "Railroad Track" below. He has more style than I could ever hope to have and the track is sure to be stuck in you mind for the rest of the day.
[News] Beck To Release Third Man Records Single
On May 28th Beck will make his debut on Third Man Records by releasing a one-off 7" single, "I Just Started Hating Some People Today" with "Blue Randy" as the b-side. The single will be available on day of release via Third Man Records website, iTunes and the TMR store in Nasvhille. There will be NO pre-orders for this single, so guess who will be stalking the TMR website like a crazy person? Yes, me. Until the 28th rolls around you can head over to the TMR site and hear clips of the two songs.
The tracks were recorded in 2011 while Beck was in Nashville working on new material for his long awaited next album. The songs spontaneously came together at the Third Man studio on Beck's final day in Nashville.
There will be an extremely limited run of 100 Tri Color 7-inches (which were inspired by the title of b-side "Blue Randy) will be available beginning 10am on Saturday June 2nd at Randy's Records. An even scarcer scattering of 50 Tri Colors will be randomly inserted in mail orders for the single placed with Third Man.
We. So. Excited
[Watch] Jack White Releases "Freedom At 21" Via Helium Balloon ONLY
In an attempt to come up with more non-traditional channels of distribution for the music at Third Man Records, Jack White and his snazzily-dressed staff launched a limited edition first ever flexi-disc single for "Freedom At 21" into the air yesterday (no foolin') via large helium balloons. Not sure how far the helium balloons will travel but I am doubtful that I will get ahold of one all the way in Brooklyn. Sigh.
The good news is so far none are on eBay (as of the time of this post), so that means either they're still traveling to their final destinations or are in the hands of actual fans. You can head over to http://thirdmanrecords.com/balloon to track where the balloons land. It looks like a few have already landed! I'm so jealous.
The countdown till we all get our hands on Blunderbuss is less than a month now as April 24th is just around the corner. Make sure you pre-order the album if you haven't already.

[Listen] Jack White - "Love Interruption"
So, in between bidding on Elephant heads and being totally awesome offering once in a life time opportunities to kids and running a record label, Jack White has found time to record himself a solo LP! Oh yes, Blunderbuss will be released April 24 on Third Man Records/ Columbia and today you can stream the first sample of what we can expect from the man in the form of "Love Interruption".
A vinyl version of the "Love Interruption" single featuring exclusive non-LP B-side "Machine Gun Silhouette" will be released February 7 on Third Man Records but if you're eager to get your hands on some TMR vinyl it's available now for pre-order.
The album was produced by the man himself and recorded at his very own Third Man Studio in Nashville. Talking of the album Jack said:
an album I couldn't have released until now. I've put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name. These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colors on my own canvas.

[News] Third Man Records To Give School Choirs, Bands A Vinyl Experience Of A Lifetime
Earlier today Third Man Records announced a partnership that is sure to put a smile on your face. As we all know, with every passing day budgets for music education programs are being constantly being slashed. To combat that, Jackie White's label is offering students in school choirs and bands everywhere the chance of a lifetime. With the help of their partner Brightspark Travel, students will get the opportunity to visit the Nashville-based label, record some of their songs there, have their recorded songs pressed in dual-color 7" vinyl (their school colors), and receive a commemorative plaque.
Bravo to you, Jackie. You may keep us guessing with things like appearances on American Pickers and deciding to work with Insane Clown Posse, but you've done a great thing here.

[Listen] The Black Belles - "Honky Tonk Horror"
Ever since getting a taste of Third Man Records goth rock quartet, The Black Bells and their first single "What Can I Do?" and their later collaboration with Stephen Colbert "Charlene II (I’m Over You)", we've been patiently waiting on when TMR would announce the release of their debut album. Finally that day has come, thanks to our good buddy The Audio Perv.
The Black Belles are set to release their newest single "Honky Tonk Horror" on 7″ vinyl, digitally via iTunes, and on September 24 and will feature the non album B-Side "Dead Shoe". The track is the band's first single from their upcoming self titled debut record, produced by none other than Jack White, is set to release this November.
