[Listen] Charlotte Gainsbourg - "Trick Pony (Boys Noize Remix)"

Berlin DJ Boys Noize recently unleashed this remix of Charlotte Gainsbourg's song "Trick Pony" from the Stéphane Pompougnac compilation Night and Day, which was released in April on Because Music in France.

Word on the street is that Charlotte has tapped Beck one again to help her out with her new album. No other news on that as of yet, so check back for more details.

I love all these Chromeo reworks that have recenly sprung up! This new one comes from Fueled By Ramen darlings Cobra Starship and gives the track a slightly slowed down but still funktastic feel.

Okay seriously. Beck, darling, you really need to cut it out. Granted, it is appropriate that you did a rework of someone you co-produced last year and of all songs, "Completely Exposed" is quite the doozy to remix, but let's get back to work on a new album, shall we?

This remix of Jamie Lidell's gritty pop/r&b number actually gives you less time to cruise around the song but feels like you are getting the chance to spend some more time with it. Not bad at all if you ask me.

The EP is available both digitally and on vinyl, courtesy of DFA. The physical release contains the Holy Ghost! original, Kris Menace’s Vocal Re-Interpretation, and remixes from CFCF and Richard X. Included in the digital release are all of the aforementioned tracks, as well as contributions from Moby, Flight Facilities and Menace’s instrumental remix.

[Listen] Rival Schools - "69 Guns" (Blockhead Remix)

More remixes are starting to trickle in after Ad Rock of the Beasties laid down this dancetastic little re-working. Now it's L.E.S. beatmaker extraordinaire Blockhead's turn to give us a different spin on Rival Schools' hit track, "69 Guns".

Fun fact, Rival Schools' drummer Sammy Siegler and Blockhead went to the same grade school and have been playing basketball together for quite awhile now. It was there that the idea for a remix was born. Interestingly enough, that's how the Ad Rock remix came to pass as well.

As of today, there will be a remix EP featuring this remix, Ad Rock's and one from Daryl Palumbo of Glassjaw.

The folks from The Naked & Famous took "Austere" from The Joy Formidable and transformed the track from edgy indie rock into this heavy electro-pop track. Now I can't decide which one I like better!
