[Listen x Download] Xaphoon Jones Drops New Instrumental & Kidz In The Hall "Break It Down" Remix

Chiddy Bang beatsmith Xaphoon Jones, who I very recently had the chance to interview, has dropped two new tracks today for your listening pleasure. The first is an instrumental titled "Atari Grams Space Goon," and makes good use of the phrase "Whooooo!" The second is a remix of hip-hop duo Kidz In The Hall's track "Break It Down." SKOA darlings The Kickdrums have released a remix done by GOOD Music rapper GLC. I was already a huge fan of this song already, but the reworks that GLC added to this was a really nice touch.

As previously mentioned, legendary DJ Kenneth Bager lives in his own wacked out universe. In this video for "The Sound of Swing" you get a pretty good idea what's going on in his head. It's not necessarily something out of your worst nightmare, unless you have something against singing fish, rabbits, flying brains, and an explosion of color.

In case you haven't been able to put your finger on who the voice of the singing fish is yet, that's Stones Throw's very own Aloe Blacc.

[SKOA Premiere] Icebird - "Going and Going. And Going (Illvibe x RJD2 Remixes)"

Over a year and a half ago, SKoA's favorite producer RJD2 dropped hints regarding a group called Icebird he was forming with vocalist Aaron Livingston. For quite some time, there was no word as to what was going on regarding the project and whether or not they would be releasing anything. That is until three weeks ago when the duo announced the October 11th release date of Icebird's debut LP, titled The Abandoned Lullaby.

Since then, we've been given a fantastic taste of what the album will sound like with the first single "Going and Going. And Going." The track gives a good sense of how RJ and Livingston have crafted a truly awesome psychadelic, soulful sound, and today, SKoA is happy to premiere two official remixes of that exact song. The first comes from Sonny James of Illvibe Collective, which Aaron Livingston has contributed too, and the second comes from RJ himself.

You can listen to both remixes below, and look forward to the release of The Abandoned Lullaby on October 11th via RJ's own Electric Connections label.

[Listen] Skylar Grey - "Invisible" (David Lynch Remix)

I wasn't particularly big on the original version of Skylar Grey's official first single "Invisible" but let legendary director David Lynch get ahold of the track and he turns it into a dark, creepy, yet beautiful masterpiece. Newest pop sensation Skylar Grey performed her first show (under the Skylar monkier) at The Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco and debuted new songs from her upcoming debut album Invinsible (yes, that is spelled correctly).
