[Listen] Rammstein - "Mein Land" (Mogwai Remix)
I remember the days when me and friends would be in German lessons singing Rammstein at the top of our lungs to then be given detention for inadvertently shouting obscenities at our teachers. That was some 10 years ago and although I now don't go around shouting abuse in German, Rammstein are still around. They've now also been given the remix treatment from Scottish rockers Mogwai. The original version of this new track will feature on Rammstein’s upcoming release titled Made in Germany 1995-2011 which is set for release on December 6th via Vagrant Records. Following in the footsteps of Cut Copy, The 2 Bears, and RAC Maury, Ulrich Schnauss and Yeasayer have put their best foot forward in remixing tracks from Death Cab for Cutie's recent album Codes & Keys. Keeping up with their promise, the band has released a remix every week leading up to the release of their Codes & Keys Remix EP. Last week, German electronic musician Ulrich Schnauss remixed the albums second single "Home Is A Fire," while this week, Yeasayer put their own flavour into the title track from the album. [Listen] Lady Gaga - "Marry The Night" (The Weeknd x Illangelo Remix)
As Lady Gaga readies for the release of Born This Way: The Remix, fans are treated to a very nice sounding remix of her track "Marry The Night" from The Weeknd and producer Illangelo. The track will feature remixes from the likes of Two Door Cinema Club, Hurts, Metronomy and one we've already heard from Wild Beasts and will hit stores the world over on November 21st (UK) / 22nd (US). [Listen] The Roots Remix the Captain Morgan's Theme Song
While The Roots recently announced that they were currently working on their thirteenth studio album, titled undun, it seems that the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon house band still has the time to do a remix the theme song Captain Morgan's latest television commercial. The Philadelphia hip hop group remixed the track in their usual fashion, by completely reinterpreting and reworking it.
The Roots' spin on the jingle comes in the form of "To Life, Love, and Loot," which drummer ?uestlove explains "is part funk, but it's also as aggressive a song can get with drums, guitar, and tuba. Lyrically, we figured we’d tackle the mission statement line by line. We touch on love and then you extend love to life, and then the love of loot. In this case buried treasure. We definitely had a visual pirate ship in our heads when we were doing this track."

Death Cab for Cutie's Keys & Codes Remix EP is set for release on November 22nd, and the band have kept up their promise of releasing one remix every week leading up to the release, with each of the EP's seven tracks will be released one week at a time. Two weeks ago, we heard Cut Copy's take on "Doors Unlocked and Open," and last week we heard The 2 Bears' remix of "You Are A Tourist." This week, Consequence of Sound premiered the third of the seven remixes, with RAC taking a stab at the track "Some Boys." You can listen to the track below.

I'm sure by now most of you have had a listen to the new Justice record. If you're like me, you were thoroughly disappointed by the lack of supreme dance jams. There wasn't really a song that grabbed ahold of you and said "HEY YOU OVER THERE! GET OUT OF YOUR CHAIR AND START DANCING RIGHT NOW!"
Well, the internet, I am happy to report that fellow Frenchmen The Blisters Boyz have stepped in and taken an already pretty solid song from Audio, Video, Disco and transformed it into the dancetastic jam that it could have been from the start. "New Lands" has gone from a pure classic rock 80s-esque sound to an electrifying track that you'd find thumping inside a dark discotheque. I couldn't be more pleased with their take on this song.

Odd Future's Syd The Kid has given the remix treatment to the hottest property at the moment, Lana Del Rey. Love or hate all these mixes I kind of dug the chilled out feel Syd goes for with this remix of LDR's "Blue Jeans". Anyone else feeling the same or kind of bored when it comes to Lana and the never ending store room full of remixes?
